A tasty ground nuts and spice mix
Ingredients
- 1 kilogram peanuts (natural)
- 250 grams sesame seeds
- 150 grams cumin seeds
- 100 grams coriander seeds (whole)
- 2 teaspoons cooking salt
- 1½ tablespoons paprika
Instructions
- Roast peanuts in the oven. Allow to cool, and chop in food processor.1 kilogram peanuts
- Roast sesame seeds in a pan and leave to cool.250 grams sesame seeds
- Roast the cumin seeds and the coriander seeds (separately) in a pan, then grind.150 grams cumin seeds, 100 grams coriander seeds
- Mix all ingredients and store in the fridge or vacuum sealed in the pantry.2 teaspoons cooking salt, 1½ tablespoons paprika
Notes
Dukkah or D’oa to the Egyptians, is a very old Egyptian spicy ground nut mix. Just sprinkle it on bread and eat. It’s delicious with boiled eggs and simit (sesame-coated round bread rings).
